A Complete Property Transformation: Formal Garden, Front Terrace and 250m² Block Paved Driveway

This Berkshire estate had good bones — a generous plot surrounding a handsome brick home — but the outdoor spaces weren't keeping up. The rear garden was patchy and neglected, the existing brick terracing tired and informal, and the front of the property no better: an ageing driveway that did nothing for a house of this calibre. The owners wanted the whole property to feel as considered and refined as the house itself.

Before a single spade went in, we worked through every detail in 3D. The rear garden design brought together a large formal porcelain terrace stepping down to a sweeping striped lawn, raised planted borders with specimen trees, sculptural topiary spirals, and a dedicated outdoor entertaining zone with a timber pergola and built-in barbecue. Lavender, ornamental grasses, hydrangeas, and alliums were chosen to provide colour, movement, and seasonal interest throughout the year.

Out front, 250m² of block paving was laid in a classic herringbone pattern, giving the property an arrival experience to match the garden behind it. Raised terracing, stone steps, and carefully considered edging completed the front elevation.

On site, the groundworks were meticulous throughout — precision edging, careful base preparation, stone cutting — before the porcelain was laid at the rear and the block paving at the front. Planting came last, softening the structure and bringing the design to life.

The result is a property transformed from kerb to back fence. Formal and structured, yet warm and inviting — exactly what the owners had imagined, and exactly what the 3D renders promised.
